Should you be getting more Sleep?

Are you wondering how sleep impacts how your eyes feel???

A lot actually… Sleep depravation has been found to cause reduced tear secretions and when sleep durations are shorter more symptoms of dry eye occur.

A 2015 study in Sleep Medicine found that compared to those getting 6-8 hours of sleep a day, symptoms got worse with the less sleep a person had.

A review of the scientific literature also reports that those with a diagnosis of Dry Eye Disease report poorer sleep quality, greater daytime sleepiness, less sleep, more sleep disturbances, increased prevalence, incidence, and severity of sleep disorders compared to non-DED patients.

So it your eye comfort bothers you, it may be worthwhile to consider trying to improve your sleep.
