Dry Eye or Allergies?

Is it allergies or dry eyes?? Both can cause redness, burning sensations & sensitive eyes. Allergy is more likely to present with itchiness, wateriness, swelling and under eye circles. Dry Eye presents more often with foreign body sensation, tired eyes and blurriness to the vision. Dry Eye can sometimes make the eyes itchy too but rubbing them can make them feel a little better whereas with allergy just makes them feel itchier. 

If in doubt a good topical lubricating eyedrops is a good place to start. It will help with dry eye but with allergy it flushes away allergens, soothes the eyes and reduces dryness caused by any oral antihistamines.
